The bachelor thesis deals with the connection between cognitive functions, motivation and sport. Understanding and using this issue improves and has a positive effect on the performance of the athlete. The aim of this work is to find out whether the connection between these concepts exists and where it manifests itself in sport and how. The work contains two views on how cognitive functions and motivations affect athletes and how sport, in the sense of physical activity, affects them in the opposite direction. Also included are the environmental influences that affect cognitive functions and how it is possible to train them. This work brings a new perspective on the use, purpose and profit of these functions and motivation in sports. With this knowledge focused on the center of the nervous system, it is possible to look comprehensively and qualitatively at sport and movement, rather than just in the sense of the periphery as the body.
