Cílem přehledové bakalářské práce bylo sumarizovat aktuální dohledané publikované poznatky o vnímání umírání a smrti z pohledu dětí, jejich rodin a všeobecných sester. Relevantní dokumenty pro tvorbu teoretických východisek byly dohledány v elektronických vědeckých databázích EBSCO, ProQuest, Science Direct a Ovid. Práce je rozpracována do dvou dílčích cílů. V prvním cíli jsme se zaměřily na vnímání umírání a smrti z pohledu umírajících dětí, jejich sourozenců a následně rodičů. Všichni členové rodiny zažívají negativní emoce jako je strach, úzkost, deprese. Smrt dítěte může u rodinných příslušníků vést ke komplikovanému zármutku trvajícímu až několik let. Ztráta má vliv na budoucnost pozůstalých, a pokud není vyřešena, může vést k mnoha psychiatrickým nemocím. Druhý cíl se soustřeďuje na vnímání umírání a smrti z pohledu všeobecných sester, které pečují o terminálně nemocné pacienty. Poskytování paliativní péče je psychicky náročné a vede k mnoha emocionálním a fyzickým symptomům. Pokud všeobecné sestry své pocity ignorují nebo potlačují, následkem může být syndrom vyhoření. Vnímání umírání a smrti je významně ovlivněno osobními faktory, délkou profesní praxe, prvními zkušenostmi s úmrtím a poskytovanou podporou ze strany kolegů na pracovišti. Důležité je, aby všeobecné sestry sdílely své pocity s kolegy, dokázaly rozpoznat své pocity a nastavily profesionální hranice s umírajícími pacienty a rodinami. Dohledané poznatky zmíněné v bakalářské práci mohou pomoci zdravotnickým pracovníkům lépe porozumět, jak vnímají smrt umírající děti a jejich rodiny. Poznatky mohou pomoc také manažerům zdravotnických pracovišť a učitelům v porozumění emocí všeobecných sester, absolventů a studentů programu ošetřovatelství během poskytovaní paliativní péče. Mohou pomoc hledat řešení, jak zvládat zátěžové situace při péči o pacienty s terminální nemocí.The objective of this thesis was summarize the current searchable published resources on perception of dying and death from children prespective, families and general nurses. Relevant documents establishing of theoretical background were found in electronic information databases such as EBSCO, ProQuest, Science Direct and Ovid. The thesis is devided into main two parts. In the first part we focused on perception of death and dying from dying children perspective, their siblings and subsequently parents. All family members experience negative emotions such as fear, anxiety and depression. Death of child can cause complicated grief lasting several years. Loss affects the future of the bereavers and will not be taken care of, it could lead to many psychiatric illnesses. The second part focuses on perception of death and dying from perspective of general nurses who take care of terminally ill patients. Providing palliative care is mentally exhausting and can lead to many emotional and physical symptoms. If nurses ignore or supress their feelings, the result can be burnout. The perception of dying and death from perspective of general nurses is significantly influenced by personal factors, length of professional experience, first experience of death and support provided by colleagues in the workplace. It is important for general nurses share their feelings with colleagues, recognize their feelings and set professional boundaries with dying patients and families. Results of the research mentioned in the thesis can help medical staff in better understanding how dying children and their families perceive death. Results can also help to managers of medical facilities and teachers in understanding emotions of nurses, graduates and students of nursing programs during providing palliative care. It can help in finding solutions how to cope with stressful situations in taking care of patients with terminal illness.
