Táto diplomová práca sa zabýva analýzou politicko-medzinárodnej situácie v obdobé pandémie COVID-19 od jej začiatku do konca septembra 2020. Hlavným cieľom bola analýza medzinárodných vzťahov medzi ČĽR, WHO a Taiwanom, a to predovšetkým v súvislosti s vylúčením Taiwanu z WHO. Analýzu som doplnila o komparáciu epidémie SARS v roku 2003 a súčasnej pandémie COVID-19 na Taiwane. Práca je rozdelená na štyri časti. Prvá uvádza stručnú históriu a status Taiwanu na svetovej politickej scéne. Druhá časť predstavuje popis založenia, histórie, fungovania a štruktúry WHO. V nasledujúcej časti uvádzam analýzu reakcií Taiwanu na pandémiu COVID-19 a kompa-ráciu s opatreniami, ktoré Taiwan zaviedol v roku 2003 v reakcii na epidémiu SARS. Posledná časť obsahuje analýzu vývoja vzťahov medzi Taiwanom a WHO od minulosti až po súčasnosť a reakcie jednotlivých krajín na situáciu v roku 2020.This thesis focuses on the analysis of the political-international situation during the COVID-19 pandemic from its beginning to the end of September 2020. The main goal of the thesis was to analyze the international relations between the PRC, the WHO and Taiwan, especially in relation to Taiwan's exclusion from the WHO. The analysis was supplemented with a comparison of the SARS epidemic in 2003 and the current COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first one in-cludes a brief history of Taiwan and its status on the world's political stage. The second part describes the history, founding, functioning and the structure of the WHO. In the next part, I introduce the analysis of Taiwan's responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and a comparison with measures which were applied in Taiwan in 2003 as a part of re-action to the SARS epidemic. The last part includes the analysis of the development of relations between Taiwan and the WHO from the past to the present and also reactions of various countries to the current situation in 2020.
