Teoretická část nahlíží na historický vývoj náhradní rodinné péče, na rodinu a její funkce. Zabývá se ústavní výchovou a současnou náhradní rodinnou výchovou, kde poukazuje na různé přístupy náhradní rodinné péče rodinného typu, svěření dítěte do péče. Konkrétněji se věnuje pěstounské péči prarodičů, zabývá se pozitivy a negativy pěstounské péče, a to jak ze strany dítěte, tak i ze strany pěstounů - prarodičů. Popisuje práva a povinnosti pěstounů a mapuje zastřešující organizace pěstounské péče. Praktická část zkoumá, jaké dopady má pěstounská péče na pěstouny - prarodiče. S jakými pozitivy a negativy se pěstouni prarodiče v průběhu péče a výchovy o svěřené dítě potýkají. Jakým způsobem získávají potřebné informace a jak hodnotí pomoc a spolupráci se zastřešujícími organizacemi a také jaké rady či doporučení mohou poskytnout jiným pěstounům.The theoretical part delineates the historical development of the substitutive family care and its functions. It focuses on the institutional care and currently practised substitutive family care and points to various approaches to the substitutive family care provided by family members and fosterage as such. In specific terms the theses aims at the foster care provided by grandparents, speaks of positive and negative aspects of the care both on the part of the child and the foster grandparents. It also describes the rights and responsibilities of the foster parents and maps the umbrella organisation engaged in foster care. The practical part investigates the consequences of foster care for the foster grandparents. What positive and negatives aspects they need to address within the care and upbringing. How they obtain and gather necessary information and how they see the help and collaboration of the umbrella organisations. What advice and recommendation they can share with other foster care providers.
