Matematická gramotnost (schopnost uplatňovat matematiku v praxi) je důležitou, avšak mnohdy nedoceněnou součástí života každého člověka. Často je slýchána otázka: "K čemu mi matematika bude?" Práce si klade za cíl hledat odpovědi na tuto otázku pomocí výzkumných rozhovorů s odborníky z různých oborů. Respondenti předkládají velké množství příkladů praktického využití matematiky a zajímavých podnětů pro výuku matematiky. Kromě toho výzkum poukazuje také na význam samotných rozhovorů, které by se mohly stát důležitým prvkem profesní přípravy učitelů.Mathematical literacy (ability to put Mathematics into practice) is an important part of everybody's life, although rather unappreciated. One often hears the question: "What is Mathematics good for?" The thesis sets itself the goal of seeking answers to this question interviewing experts in various fields. Respondents present a wide range of examples of practical uses of Mathematics and interesting ideas for teaching Mathematics. In addition, the research also shows the significance of interviews themselves, which could become an essential element of vocational teacher training.
