Diplomová práce se zabývá fikční kategorií prostoru, o níž ovšem nepojednává pouze na teoretické rovině, ale vzhledem ke způsobům její manifestace v konkrétní tvorbě, jíž jsou vybraná romaneta českého spisovatele Jakuba Arbese (1840-1914). Romaneta jsou vybrána tak, aby tvořila průřez Arbesovou tvorbou v této oblasti a pomohla ozřejmit, jak se pojetí fikčního prostoru v prozaikově tvorbě vyvíjelo. Konkrétně se práce snaží popsat způsoby evokace prostoru v prózách, druhy konfigurací, do nichž vstupují jednotlivé prostorové objekty, a význam prostorových schémat v jednotlivých prózách, přičemž nahlíží na prostor jako na fikční kvalitu fikčního světa.This Master thesis is dealing with fiction space category, not only in a theoretical way, but, taking into acount the ways of its manifestation in specific creation, with the chosen mystery novels of czech author Jakub Arbes (1840-1914). The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is partly dealing with Jakub Arbes, and especially with his relation to Prague. Since the Prague environment is a topic of many of his mystery novels, as well as with mystery novels as genre (describes its origin, main characters, and place of genre in Arbes´s creation). In part, the theoretical is dealing with category of fiction space, into which one is looking from the fiction world´s point of view. In the scope of theoretical part, chosen theoretical and methodological studies, related to the category of fiction space are also described. We proceeded mostly from knowledge of Marie-Laure Ryan, Jurij Lotman and triple-level space models, studied by Gabriel Zoran, Alice Jedličková and Richard Změlík. The Practical parts is dealing with specific mystery novels, chosen in the way to create a summary of Arbes´s creation in this field, and to help to clarify, how the fiction space developed during the prosaist´s creation. The list of specific mystery novels is: Ďábel na skřipci (1865), Elegie o černých očích (1867), Svatý Xaverius (1873), Zázračná madona (1875), Newtonův mozek (1877), Můj přítel vrah (1879), Pro rusou kadeř (1880), Omlazující krev (1882), První noc u mrtvoly (1886), Duhový bod nad hlavou (1889), Duhokřídlá Psýché (1891), Poslední dnové lidstva (1895). Analysis of the mystery novels is inspired by theoretical studies, mentioned in the first part of the diploma thesis. The thesis describes space evocation ways in prose, the kinds of configurations into which the individual space objects come in, and the meaning of spatial schemes in individual prose and observe the space as fiction quality of fiction world.
