Tématem této práce je zhodnocení vlivu pomníků padlým na utváření veřejného prostoru. Jako zájmové území byl za tímto účelem vybrán okres Vsetín. Zájmovými objekty jsou pomníky z první a druhé světové války. V práci je na pomníky nahlíženo jako na specifická místa paměti, prostřednictvím kterých si společnost připomíná svou minulost. Jedním z cílů práce je zhodnocení významu pomníků z hlediska komemorativní funkce. V tomto ohledu nelze vynechat také jejich vliv na formování lokální identity obyvatel. Zhodnocení této problematiky bylo možné díky rozhovorům se zástupci vybraných obcí ve sledovaném území. Nedílnou součást tvoří také průzkum související se stavem konkrétních pomníků. Další cíl představuje zhodnocení územní diferenciace pomníků. Prostorová informace je analyzována z hlediska dominantního postavení pomníků v prostoru. V tomto případě je přihlíženo zejména k faktorům vzniku jednotlivých pomníků. Zjištěné výsledky územní diferenciace obsahuje hned několik přílohových map.Topic of the thesis is the evalution influnce of monuments of the fallen on the formation of public space. The district of Vsetín was chosen as the area of interest for this purpose. The objects of interest are monuments from the First and Second World Wars. In thesis monuments of fallen are perceived as specific places of memory, through which society commemorate its past. One of the aims of the thesis is to evaluate the significance of monuments in terms of commemorative function. In this regard, their influence on the formation of the local identity of the population can not be ommited. The evaluation of this issue was possible thanks to interviews with representatives of selected municipalities in the monitored area. An integral part is also a exploration related to the condition of specific monuments. The other aim is to rate the territorial differentiation of monuments. Spatial information is analyzed in terms of the dominant position of monuments in space. In this case, the factors of creation of individual monuments are taken into account. The obtained results of territorial differetiation are contained in several annex maps.
