Diplomová práce nabízí překlad dvou vybraných kapitol zabývajících se problematikou forenzní fonetiky (The forensic phonetician: Forensic speaker identification by experts a Aural/Acoustic vs. Automatic Methods in Forensic Phonetic Case Work), a to z anglicky psaných odborných publikací. Překládané texty jsou doplněny o poznámkový aparát vztahující se k relevantním pasážím a výrazům. Součástí práce je také teoretická kapitola pojednávající o vybraných problematických jevech s ohledem na jednotlivé jazykové rovin a anglicko-český glosář forenzněfonetické terminologie.This Master's thesis is concerned with an annotated English to Czech translation of two selected chapters on forensic phonetics, namely The forensic phonetician: Forensic speaker identification by experts by a German forensic phonetician named Michael Jessen, and Aural/Acoustic vs. Automatic Methods in Forensic Phonetic Case Work by a Swedish forensic phonetician named Anders Eriksson. These texts have been chosen after an initial assessment of the date of their origin, their relevance and the level of erudition of the authors. The commentary deals with problematic areas of the translation (mainly concerning terminology and possible lack of adequate Czech equivalents for certain phenomena). The theoretical part of the thesis concerns selected relevant features encountered during the course of translation, which are then categorized according to their affiliation to a specific area of linguistics, namely phonetics/phonology, morphology, lexicology and syntax / text linguistics. Furthermore, a glossary of English-Czech forensic phonetic terminology has been made.
