Přehledová bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou umírání a smrti pacienta z pohledu všeobecné sestry. Cílem práce bylo sumarizovat aktuální dohledatelné publikované poznatky o umírání a smrti pacienta z pohledu všeobecné sestry. Teoretická východiska byla zpracována z dohledaných výzkumných studií z databází EBSCO, Google Scholar, Medvik a PUBMED a rozpracována do dvou cílů. Mezi nejčastěji používané efektivní copingové strategie všeobecných sester patří rozhovor, sdílení prožitků s kolegy či rodinou a nastavení profesionálních hranic s umírajícími pacienty. The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of dying and death of a patient from the perspective of a nurse. The goal of this work was to summarize the current searchable published findings on dying and death of a patient from the perspective of a nurse. The theoretical background was compiled from the research studies from the EBSCO, Google Scholar, Medvik and PUBMED databases and developed into two subgoals. The first subgoal was to summarize the current published findings on the experience of dying and patient death by general nurses. General nurses experience dying and death of the patients rather negatively, but for some nurses such a situation may also be a source of positive emotions. The experience of nurses depends on many factors, especially the personality characteristics, the length of practice, the field in which nurses operate and previous experiences. The second subgoal was to summarize the current published findings on the general nursing coping strategies used in dying and after the death of the patient. The most commonly used nursing coping strategies include interviewing, sharing experiences with colleagues or family, and setting professional boundaries with dying patients. Czech general nurses use coping strategies focused on relaxing and taking time to themselves and their interests. If coping is ineffective, the level of stress can result in burnout and leaving the nursing profession.
