Cílem této bakalářské práce je definovat pojem identita a zaměřit se na otázku identity ve dvou prozaických dílech Jackie Kayové "Trumpet" a "Red Dust Road". Jackie Kay je důležitou postavou v současné Skotské literatuře. Ve svých dílech se zaměřuje hlavně na otázku identity, ať už v próze či v poezii. Začala se tomu věnovat díky vlastním zkušenostem. Již od dětství si uvědomovala, že představuje směsici mnoha identit, když se musela vyrovnat s tím, že je adoptovaná a musela snášet šikanu a rasistické poznámky od obyvatel bigotního Skotska.The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to define the concept identity and explore the question of identity in two fictions by Jackie Kay "Trumpet" and "Red Dust Road". Jackie Kay in an important figure in contemporary Scottish literature. In her works, either her prose or poetry, she focuses on the question of identity mainly. She started to dedicate herself to it thanks to her own experiences. From a very young age she has been aware of her mixture of identities when she had to deal with the fact that she is adopted and with bullying and racism.
