Předkládaná diplomová práce si klade za cíl vytvořit adekvátní překlad povídky "Kak isčezajut ljudi" současného ruského spisovatele Pavla Krusanova a zároveň zpracovat kvalitní translatologický komentář k překladu. V teoretické části práce je nastíněna problematika překladu umělecké literatury, včetně přihlédnutí k jejím specifikům, a rovněž je představen překladatelský proces v pojetí nejvýznamnějšího českého teoretika překladu Jiřího Levého. Další kapitola teoretické části je věnována autorovi povídky - Pavlu Krusanovovi, a to mimo jiné jeho biografii, literární činnosti, poetice jeho děl či přiblížení jeho názoru na spisovatelskou práci obecně. Následuje praktická část práce, kterou představuje samotný překlad povídky a analýza vybraných překladatelských řešení, která je rozčleněná do tří skupin - na rovinu lexikální, syntaktickou a stylistickou. V rámci jednotlivých rovin jsou komentovány následující jevy: překlad vlastních jmen, přezdívek a pojmenování postav, překlad místních názvů, překlad reálií, bezekvivalentního lexika a frazeologismů, překlad přechodníků, překlad a slovosled, a závěrem spisovnost a hovorovost při překladu, s důrazem na hovorovou vrstvu jazyka a její projevy v přímé řeči postav.The aim of this diploma thesis is to create an adequate translation of the short story "Kak ischezayut lyudi" by contemporary Russian writer Pavel Krusanov and at the same time to compile a good translatological commentary on the translation. The theoretical part of the thesis outlines the issue of literary translation, including its specifics, and it also introduces the notion of the translation process of the most important Czech theoretician - Jiří Levý. The next chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the author of the short story - Pavel Krusanov, including his biography, literary production, poetics of his works and his opinion on writing in general. Subsequently, the practical part of the thesis is represented by the translation of the short story itself which is then supported by the analysis of selected translation solutions, which are divided into three groups - lexical, syntactic and stylistic. The phenomena of these divisions are commented on within the following planes: translation of proper names, nicknames and naming of the characters, translation of local names, translation of life and institutions, non-equivalent lexicon and phraseology, translation of transgressives, translation and word order, and finally literacy and speech in translation, with emphasis on the colloquial layer of the language and its manifestations in the direct speech of the characters.
