Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, co vedlo studenty psychologie ke studiu tohoto oboru a jak jsou se studiem spokojeni. Zjišťovali jsme, jestli studenti věděli před nástupem do prvního ročníku, co studium psychologie obnáší a jak byly tyto představy naplněny. Kromě toho jsme zkoumali, jakou mají představu o budoucím uplatnění. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na období vynořující se dospělosti, popis přijímacích zkoušek a studijních plánů na jednotlivých fakultách v ČR a na nároky na člověka v pomáhajících profesích. Empirická část pojednává o provedeném dotazníkovém šetření na studentech bakalářského prezenčního programu psychologie. Design výzkumu byl smíšený, jednalo se o orientační výzkum. Dotazník se skládal z otázek vlastní konstrukce a Inventáře stylů identity (ISI-4). Studenti byli oslovováni prostřednictvím e-mailu a sociálních sítí. Data byla analyzována metodou obsahové analýzy a deskriptivní statistiky. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že nejčastějším motivem ke studiu psychologie je zájem o obor. Studenti od studia očekávají především kvalitní vzdělání v daném oboru. Při studiu je mnoho studentů mile překvapeno přístupem vyučujících, negativně je překvapuje především výuka metodologie a statistiky. Většina studentů je však se studiem spokojena, úroveň spokojenosti se výrazně neliší na jednotlivých fakultách. Co se týče budoucího uplatnění, nejvíce studentů by chtělo pracovat v oblasti klinické psychologie.The aim of this thesis was to find out what were the reasons why psychology students decided to study psychology and also to find out how satisfied they are with their study. We tried to find out whether the students knew what the study of psychology would be like and whether their expectations were met. We also studied their expectations of their future employment. The theoretical part of this thesis describes emerging adulthood, entrance exams and curriculums of individual faculties in the Czech Republic and last but not least demands on people working in helping professions. The empirical part deals with the survey of bachelor psychology students. Mixed methods research design was used for this survey, it was a mapping research. The questionnaire consisted of questions we constructed, together with Identity Style Inventory (ISI-4). The students were approached via e-mail and social media. The survey data was analysed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. The results of this thesis show that the most frequent motive to study psychology is the interest in psychology. The students expect their study to mostly give them proper education in psychology. Many students are pleasantly surprised by the attitude of their tutors and unpleasantly surprised by the way methodology and statistics are taught. However, most of the students are satisfied with their study and the level of satisfaction is similar in all faculties. And concerning future employment, most of the students would like to work as a clinical psychologist.
