Bobr evropský byl odpradávna součástí krajiny celé Eurasie. Ve středověku došlo téměř k jeho vyhubení, ovšem lidé si uvědomili jeho význam pro krajinu a ostatní organismy a bobr se tak pod zákonnou ochranou opět mohl vrátit. Jeho populace stále roste v České republice i v celé Evropě. V této rešerši byly popsány základní charakteristiky bobra evropského, především jeho biologie a ekologie, a také možné konflikty s tímto druhem a možnosti jejich řešení. Dále byl shrnut vývoj bobří populace na našem kontinentě a v České republice. Pro navazující diplomovou práci je zde charakterizována Chráněná krajinná oblast Litovelské Pomoraví a také navržena metodika monitoringu zkoumaného druhu pro tuto oblast a přehled dalších možností, které byly využity v různých studiích. Dále byla vytvořena fotodokumentace pobytových znaků bobra.The European beaver has always been part of the landscape of whole of Eurasia. In the Middle Ages beaver was almost exterminated. However, people realized its importance to the landscape and other organisms, and the beaver could return to the European nature under the protection of laws. The beaver's population continues to grow in the Czech Republic and throughout Europe. In this literary review, basic characteristics of European beaver, especially its biology and ecology, as well as possible conflicts with this species and possibilities of their solution were described. The development of beaver population on our continent and in the Czech Republic was summarized. Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area is characterized for the follow-up diploma thesis as well as the methodology of monitoring the studied species for this area, and an overview of other options of monitoring that have been used in various studies. Furthermore, photo documentation of the beaver's residence signs was created.
