Magisterská práce analyzuje tři romány (Mlýn na mumie [2013] Petra Stančíka, Lord Mord [2008] Miloše Urbana a Augustin Zimmermann [2016] Zuzany Kultánové), jež tematizují pražské židovské ghetto (Josefov) druhé poloviny 19. století. K analýze využívá dvojí metodologii: narativní (close reading) a kvantitativně-korpusovou (distant reading) analýzu. Teoretická část práce se věnuje problému literární reprezentace a nahlíží na něj z hlediska teorie fikčních světů (Doležel), sémiotiky (Hall, Barthes, Eco), kognitivních věd (Margolin) a recepční estetiky (Iser). Práce rovněž stručně předkládá historický kontext fenoménu pražského židovského ghetta a autorovy teoretické úvahy o literární reprezentaci.This thesis focuses on modes of representation of the Prague Jewish Ghetto (Josefov) in the contemporary Czech literature (Zuzana Kultánová's Augustin Zimmermann, Petr Stančík's Mlýn na mumie and Miloš Urban's Lord Mord). The literary theory term representation due to its broad meaning relates to many other important issues in literary studies such as distinction between fictional and historical discourses, fictionalizing acts, intertextuality, reader response and nature of sign. In the first chapter mentioned questions are studied with different approaches, namely, fiction theory (Doležel), semiotics (Hall, Barthes, Eco), cognitive narratology (Margolin) and reader response theory (Iser). Current chapter also includes a brief overview of the history of the Prague Jewish ghetto. The second chapter analyzes selected novels with different methodological means - narrative analysis (close reading) and quantitative-corpora analysis (distant reading). The final chapter presents an interpretation of discovered notions in studied fiction. The current thesis deals with the hierarchy of fictional places and their mutual boundaries, the subjectivisation of space, and especially the function of the Prague Jewish Ghetto representation in the fictions.
