This volume examines the 'New Wave' of research in cognitive neuroscience that has developed primarily in the last decade. Its four sections look at emotion and how it relates to perception and attention; self and social cognition; higher cognitive functions including topics such as conflict monitoring and cognitive control; and how disruptions of the mechanisms of emotion and cognition cause abnormal functioning in individuals.
