Práce na základě dostupné literatury vymezuje základní pojmy týkající se problematiky finanční gramotnosti seniorů, charakterizuje stávající seniorskou populaci České republiky a zaměřuje se na vybrané aspekty vzdělávání seniorů. Výzkum je založen na obsahové analýze dokumentů týkajících se vzdělávání seniorů v okrese Bruntál doplněné o informace získané v rámci semistrukturovaných rozhovorů s pracovníky vzdělávacích institucí. První kapitola práce se zaměřuje na pojmy stárnutí, stáří a senioři a na charakteristiku stávající seniorské populace v České republice. Další kapitola se věnuje vybraným aspektům vzdělávání seniorů, zejména podmínkám a zásadám pro vzdělávání seniorů. Třetí část se věnuje pojmům spojeným s finanční gramotností a vzděláváním dospělých v oblasti finanční gramotnosti. Čtvrtá část se zaměřuje konkrétně na okres Bruntál prezentuje vybrané charakteristiky okresu a analyzuje vzdělávací příležitosti seniorů ve vymezené oblasti, na závěr jsou uvedeny návrhy a doporučení pro finanční vzdělávání seniorů.Based on available literature, this thesis defines the terms related to financial literacy of senior citizens, describes the current senior citizen population in the Czech Republic, and focuses on select aspects the process of educating senior citizens. The research is based on a content analysis of the documents related to educating senior citizens in the Bruntál district, supplemented by informatioin gained from semi-structured interviews with employees of educational institutions. The first chapter of this thesis is focused on the terms "aging, old age, and senior citizens" and a description of the current senior citizen population in the Czech Republic. The next chapter is focused on select aspects of senior citizen education, chiefly the conditions and guidelines of senior citizen education. The third part is focused on the terms related to financial literacy and the process of educating adults in the field of financial literacy. The fourth part is focused on the Bruntál district specificaly, it introduces select characteristics of the district and analyses the opportunities senior citizens have for educating themselves in the area, and it concludes with suggestions and recommendations for senior citizen education.
