Cílem diplomové práce bylo přezkoumat pohled na alpinismus v nizozemských médiích. Postoj výplýva, že masový alpinismus má negativní vliv na ekologii, ekonomiku a mornální chování horolezců. Pohled médií na alpinismus je ve většině případů negativní a nejčastěji se setkáváme u článků a filmů s katastrofickým scénářem. Přestože je alpinismus v mediích představován jako rizikový sport, ze statistik na konci práce vyplývá, že počet úrazů v horském prostředí v poměru s narůstajícím zájmem lidí o horské sporty dlouhodobě klesá. Pohled médií k tomutu sportu se v průběhu let mimořádně měnil v závislosti na společensko historických událostech. Analyzovaním nejčtenějších novin a nejpopulárnějších filmů pojednávajících o alpinismu bylo zhodnoceno, že pohled na alpinismus je dnes ve většině případů negativní. Ačkoliv se v médiích setkáváme s rizikami a nešťastnými událostmi spojenými s tímto sportem, stáva se alpinismus komerčním sportem s narůstajícím počtem zájemců.The main aim of this dissertation thesis is to do a research on alpinism in the public media of Netherlands. The perspective is that alpinism has an negative influence on the ecology, economy and morals of mountaineers. Media has mostly negative point of view about alpinism and it is very common to come by catastrophic scenarios in the movies and journal articles. Despite the fact that alpinism is displayed as a sport with high risks, the statistics at the end of the theses show the number of injuries that happen in mountains is in average dropping down in the contrary to rising popularity of the sport. The standing points of media for this sport were particularly changing along the years, depending on the sociological and historical events. Results behind the analysis of the most popular movies and the most read press with the alpinism as a topic have shown that the general point of you on alpinism is mostly negative. Although the media represent the risks and accidents that come with this sport, the alpinism itself is becoming more mainstream with the rising number of enthusiasts.
