Organická hmota má pozitivní vliv na biologické, fyzikální a chemické vlastnosti půdy a její pokles úzce koreluje s intenzifikací zemědělství v rámci zavedení konvenčních systémů hospodaření. Ground beetles play an important role in agroecosystem, especially in control of pests and weeds, they participate in decomposition of organic matter and act as bioindicators of environmental changes. Abundance and species composition of these invertebrates can be significantly influenced through organic fertilizers. Their application is a response to decreasing content of soil organic matter and can be an effective solution for its recovery. Organic matter has a positive effect on the biological, physical and chemical soil properties. Decrease of organic matter is closely correlated with agriculture intensification in context of introduction a conventional farming systems. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of organic fertilizers on the ground beetle communities for their safe use. At two field locations in the Czech-Polish border areas, with the growth of silage maize, have been applied four types of organic fertilizers in different doses. Subsequently there ran for two seasons trapping of ground beetles using pitfall traps. Altogether were captured 17 882 individuals in 52 species. Among the most numerous species were Pterostichus melanarius, Anchomenus dorsalis, Pseudoophonus rufipes, Bembidion lampros and Poecilus cupreus. After application of fertilizers at the beginning of the experiment were registered a significant increase abundance of ground beetles and their numbers gradually decreased until later in the season and in the following year. On this basis, the impact of organic fertilizers on these beetles appeared to be positive. From the applied fertilizers was significant only Agrohum in which were detect lower number of ground beetles. Among the other tested variables had a significant effect the spring season of trapping, when was demonstrated positive effect of the freshly applied fertilizer and were captured the spring peaks of the activity some of numerous species.
