Tato práce pojednává o desertifikaci Sahary a dopadech, které toto rozšiřování pouště má na zasažené oblasti. Cílem práce je popsat změny, které k vytvoření pouště vedly, a jaké účinky měl tento proces na lidská společenství a jejich hospodaření v regionu v historickém kontextu, od neolitu až do současnosti. Práce problematiku zkoumá z hlediska geografického, klimatologického i socioekonomického. Součástí je také porovnání průběhu desertifikace v podobně postižených oblastech v Číně a Jižní Americe.This paper discusses the desertification of the Sahara Desert and the impacts the desertification has on affected areas. The aim of the thesis is to describe the changes that led to the formation of the desert and the effects of this process on human communities and their farming activities in the region in a historical context, from the Neolithic to the present. The thesis examines the geographic, climatological and socioeconomic aspects. It also includes a comparison of the course of desertification in similarly affected areas in China and South America.
