Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou čtyř fikčních děl tematizujících fenomén inspektora Morse: detektivních románů a povídek Colina Dextera a televizních seriálů/adaptací Inspektor Morse, Lewis a Endeavour. Záměrem práce je detailní analýza zkoumaného předmětu, jeho zasazení do proměnlivého dobového a žánrového kontextu a odpověď na výzkumnou otázku: zda je možné, aby všechna čtyři díla stvrdila tematickou jednotu také v rovině vytvoření spojů mezi svými fikčními světy. Metodologickými nástroji jsou postupy teorie fikčních světů, strukturalistické analýzy fikčních artefaktů a poetiky míst. Tato diverzita dovoluje zabývat se širokou škálou témat od sémantických jednotek vyššího řádu až po jednotlivé existenty daných fikčních světů.This thesis deals with the analysis of four fictional subjects which thematize the phenomenon of Inspector Morse: these are the detective novels and short stories by Colin Dexter and TV series/adaptations Inspector Morse, Lewis and Endeavour. The goal of this thesis is to provide detailed analysis of these four subjects, attempt to classify them into the variable context of concrete period and genre as well as to answer the research question: is there any possibility that these four subjects would validate their thematic unity also on the level of creating the connections between their fictional worlds. I will use the methodology of the theory of fictional worlds, the structuralist analysis of fictional artifacts and the methodology of the poetics of space. This diversity helps me to deal with wide range of themes beginning with the semantics and ending with particular analysis of concrete units and existents of these fictional worlds.
