Highly concentrated dispersions of silver nanoaprticles (AgNPs) were synthesized and stabilized by direct reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) using a polymer. The effects of concentration of the reaction reagents and synthesis temperature of the nanoaprticles were studied. Advanced instrumentation techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (Uv-vis), and dynamic light scattering (DLS) were used for the characterization of the morphology, size distribution and the level of stability of the nanoparticles. The reaction occurred at 60 °C, by dropwise introduction of AgNO3 to the polymer, although, 80 °C was optimum temperature for production of silver nanoparticles. The synthesised nanoparticles were spherical in shape, with sizes ranges from 518 [nm] and their sizes were inversely proportional to the concentration of AgNO3. Moreover, the nanoparticles were stable after drying.
