Cílem této práce je zjistit pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu, jaké přínosy a krizové momenty dobrovolnictví vnímají respondenti (dobrovolníci pracující s osobami s mentálním postižením). A co jim pomáhá krizové momenty překonat.Tato práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. V teoretické části se věnuji stěžejním pojmům. Konkrétně dobrovolnictví, motivaci, přínosům a bariérám a také mentálnímu postižení. Ve výzkumné části nejprve popisuji metody, které jsem použila. Výběr respondentů byl účelový přes instituci, a rozhovory s nimi probíhaly formou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Dále ve výzkumné části uvádím výsledky výzkumu a jejich shrnutí. Data jsem analyzovala pomocí otevřeného a axiálního kódování. V závěrečné části shrnuji body, které se mi jeví jako důležité, navrhuji využití výzkumu, další možné zkoumání daného jevu a poukazuji i na propojenost se sociální prací.The aim of this thesis is to find out benefits and critical moments of volunteering perceived by the respondents (volunteers working with people with mental disabilities) of the conducted qualitative research. Another aim of the research was to find out what helps the respondents overcome those critical moments. The work is divided into two parts, a theoretical part and the research itself. In the theoretical part, I explain the central concepts. Namely it is devoted to volunteering, motivation, benefits and barriers, as well as mental disability. Within the research I first describe the methods that I used. The respondents were selected with the help of the purposive sampling method and later on a semi-structured interview was conducted with each of them. Furthermore, I present the results of the research and a summary. The data was analysed with the help of open and axial coding. In the final part I summarize the points that I consider the most important, propose a possible application of this research, suggest other areas for further research of this phenomenon, and finally I also emphasize the link with social work.
