Tato diplomová práce se zabývá sémiotickou analýzou genderových stereotypů v knižní sérii Harry Potter autorky J. K. Rowlingové. Cílem je poskytnout hloubkový vhled do problematiky, a to na základě detailního zkoumání několika hlavních postav. Specifikem výzkumu je zejména to, že se kromě analýzy ženských postav věnuje i analýze postav mužských. Výzkum vychází ze vzoru sémiotické analýzy podle Daniela Chandlera. Analyzována byla nadpoloviční většina knih dané série, přesněji čtyři ze sedmi. Byly určeny tři základní kategorie zkoumání, přičemž každá kategorie má čtyři zástupce, a to dvě ženy a dva muže.This master's thesis deals with the semiotic analysis of gender stereotypes in the literary series Harry Potter written by J. K. Rowling. The purpose of this thesis is to offer a deep insight into the topic, based on a detailed research of the books' main characters. The uniqueness of this research is that it focuses not only on female characters, but on the male ones, too. The research is based on the Daniel Chandler's semiotic analysis' model. Four out of seven books were analysed in order to work with an example bigger than a half. The analysis has three major categories of research, whereas each category has four representatives, two women and two men.
