Tématem této bakalářské práce je charakteristika režijního stylu Martina McDonagha a postihnutí jeho případných proměn. Konkrétním předmětem zájmu je krátkometrážní snímek Six Shooter a dva celovečerní filmy, V Bruggách a Sedm psychopatů. Metodologicky je práce založena na narativní a stylové analýze vycházející z konceptů Davida Bordwella a Kristin Thompsonové. Teoretická část práce představuje výchozí literaturu, definuje použitou terminologii a blíže specifikuje metodologii. Analýzám předchází kapitola přibližující osobnost Martina McDonagha jako filmového tvůrce. Stěžejní část práce tvoří samotné analýzy filmů s důrazem na postavy, vlastnosti narace, reflexivitu filmu a čtyři základní filmové prostředky. Závěr práce shrnuje výsledky rozborů uvedených snímků a také naznačuje možnosti a témata dalšího zkoumání.The topic of this bachelor thesis is the characterization of Martin McDonagh's style of directing and capturing its potential changes. The specific subject matter is the short film Six Shooter and two feature films, In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. The thesis is methodologically grounded in narrative and style analysis based on the concepts by David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson. The theoretical part presents the source literature, defines the used terminology and specifies the methodology. The analyses are preceded by a chapter focused on Martin McDonagh as a filmmaker. The main part of the thesis is formed by the analyses themselves, putting emphasis on characters, the characteristic of narration, the reflexivity in films and four basic techniques of cinema. The conclusion of the thesis summarises the results and also implies possibilities and topics of follow-up research.
