Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá filmy současného amerického režiséra Davida O. Russella. Pro jeho tvorbu je specifický častý výskyt silných ženských postav. Práce se zaměří zejména na postavy ztvárněné herečkou Jennifer Lawrence ve třech nejnovějších Russellových filmech Terapie láskou, Špinavý trik a Joy. Metodologicky práce vychází z knihy Richarda Dyera Stars. Při dekonstrukci filmové postavy se zaměřuje na několika znaků, a to na divákovu předchozí znalost, jméno postavy a její vzhled, objektivní korelát, jak mluví samotná postava a jak o ní mluví ostatní, její akce, gesta, strukturu a mizanscénu. Na základě těchto atributů jsou jednotlivé postavy analyzovány a interpretovány, a to jednak ve vztahu k příběhu a jednak ve vztahu ke svým mužským protějškům. Zatímco některé znaky jsou u vybraných Russellových charakterů upozaděny, důležitý důraz je kladen na jejich mluvu, kostým, gesta a zejména jednání.This bachelor's thesis focuses on the films of American film director David O. Russell. His work is specific in common use of strong female characters. Subject matter of this work are characters portrayed by actress Jennifer Lawrence in three recent Russell's films Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and Joy. The analysis is based on Richard Dyer's Stars in which he names the signs used when constructing the character. Those include audience foreknowledge, name, appearance, objective correlatives, speech of character, speech of others, gesture, action, structure and mise en scene. Each of the chosen characters are analyzed through those signs and interpreted in their relation to the plot and other male character. While some signs are not that important for Russell's characters he puts emphasis on speech, appearance, gesture and action in particular.
