Primárním cílem práce bylo analyzovat autobiografické prvky ve vybranch dílech Patricka Modiana. Sekundárním cílem pak bylo poskytnout českým čtenářům informace o životě a díle tohoto významného francouzského spisovatele a držitele Nobelovy ceny za literaturu z roku 2014. V teoretické části práce byl pak kladen důraz napředstavení a vymezení dvou literárních žánrů, a to konkrétně autobiografie a autofikce.The aim of this thesis was to focus and to analyse the autobiographical traces in selected works written by Patrick Modiano. The thesis is devided into fourt parts. This first one describes Modiano´s life as well as his literary work. The second part focuses on the theory of autobiographical literature, the main aim is to define the autobiogrphy and the autofiction. In the third part, three Modian´s books were introduced. These are: Livret de famille, De si braves garçons and Dora Bruder. In the fourth part, the autobiographical traces in these books were analysed to fulfil the main aim of the thesis.
