Cílem práce je studium cestopisů jakožto literárního žánru a následná analýza konkrétního cestopisu. Hlavní zaměření práce je 19. století a Kanárské ostrovy. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, první část se zabývám cestopisem obecně a jeho historii, dále pak zmiňuje nejdůležitější cestovatele po Kanárských ostrovech. Druhá část je již zaměřena na historicko-kulturní analýzu knihy Tenerife and Its Six Satellites autorky Olivie Stone. Pro tuto analýzu je použit španělský překlad této knihy, Tenerife y sus séis satélites.The aim of this thesis is a study of travel literature as a literature genre and subsequent analysis of particular travel book. The main focus is on 19th century and Canary Islands. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first part describes travel literature in general, its history and then mentions some of the travellers to Canary Islands. The second part is historical-cultural analysis of a book Tenerife and Its Six Satellites of Olivia Stone. For the aim of analysis is used its Spanish translation Tenerife y sus séis satélites.
