Táto diplomová práca sa zaoberá fonetickým a sémantickým využívaním čínskych znakov v súdobých japonských textoch. Jej úlohou je vymedzenie významu pojmu atedži, ktorého definícia nie je v súčasnosti jednoznačná, a načrtnutie jeho vývoja z historického hľadiska. Práca sa venuje primárne modernej literatúre v Japonsku a skúma využívanie atedži v nej; okrem iného si kladie za cieľ pokúsiť sa vymedziť osobitné skupiny v použití znakov, ktoré nesú spoločnú funkciu,a zmapovať ich frekvenciu v jednotlivých literárnych žánroch. Spolu s tým sú opísané jednotlivé dôvody, kvôli ktorým sa autori uchýlili k takýmto spôsobom využitia znakov, a napokon nasleduje zhodnotenie situácie a jej vývoja v tomto smere. Atedži predstavujú živú stránku v zápise japončiny a je teda možné predpokladať, že okrem iného odzrkadľujú aj určitý trend vo využívaní čínskych znakov v súčasnej japonskej spoločnosti.This master thesis deals with the phonetic and semantic usage of (primarily) Chinese characters in contemporary Japanese literature. In other words, it aims to define the meaning of the term ateji that has an ambiguous definition at present, and to depict its usage development through Japanese history. The main goal is to examine the utilization of ateji in modern Japanese literature; among other things it aims to define various specific groups distincted by the usage of characters which are used as ateji, and to illustrate its frequency in different literary genres. There are described some significant individual reasons, why the authors decided to choose this kind of character use, and finally there is also a short evaluation of the situation of ateji not only in the Japanese literature, but also in the language itself, which means its daily use and its possible development in near future. Ateji is an active part of the Japanese writing system and therefore it can be expected that, inter alia, ateji is also reflecting some sort of tendency in the usage of (primarily) Chinese characters in contemporary Japanese society. The modern Japanese literature is read by all sorts of people; therefore, it can be expected that it is trustworthy reflecting the role of ateji in written Japanese.
