Palestinské nestátní organizace plní po dlouhou dobu důležitou roli ve společnosti. Jejich postavení je odlišné než v ostatních zemích. Jejich činnost a působení je ovlivněno nestátním prostředím, ve kterém se nachází. Cílem práce je ukázat, jestli palestinské NGOs mohou plnit funkci mediátora v rámci prevence konfliktů. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. V první kapitole nalezneme teoretické vymezení mezinárodních organizací. Obsahuje současné varianty definic a kritéria používané k jejich vymezení, dále možnosti klasifikace a funkce, které plní v mezinárodním systému. Druhá kapitola pojednává o teorii prevence konfliktů. Hlavní zaměření je na mediační činnosti, a jakou roli zde hrají nevládní organizace. Třetí kapitola představuje NGO v Palestině a převážně se zaměřuje na jejich postavení v systému. Poslední kapitola ukazuje dva vybrané případy konfliktů, kde NGO vykonávaly funkci mediátora. Analyzuje jejich činnost a ukazuje jejich přínos v konfliktu.Palestinian non-governmental organizations have played a significant role in society for a long time. Their position is different from other countries. Their activities are influenced by the stateless environment which they are located in. The aim of the thesis is to show that Palestinian NGOs can act as mediators as a part of conflict prevention. The thesis is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter there is the theoretical definition of international organizations. It contains the current definitions and the criteria used to define them, as well as the possibilities of classification and the functions they serve in the international system. The second chapter deals with the issue of conflict prevention. The main focus is on mediation activities and the role played by non-governmental organizations. The third chapter presents NGOs in Palestine and focuses primarily on their position in the system. The last chapter shows two selected cases of conflicts where the NGO acted as a mediator. It analyzes their activity and shows their contribution to the conflict.
