Cílem této práce je analýza metodologických a epistemologických východisek Isaaca Newtona a Davida Huma a jejich vzájemného vztahu. Práce představuje jednotlivá stanoviska v kontextu vědecké revoluce. Důraz je kladen především na kritickou percepci návaznosti Humovy vědy o čšlověku na Newtonovu metodu induktivní inference, která stojí v opozici vůči obecně neporblematické perspektivě jejich vztahu. Primárními zdroji jejich metodologie a epistemologie jsou Newtonova díla Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy a Opticks a Humova díla A Treatise of Human Nature a An Enquiry concerning Human Understanding.The main aim of this master's thesis is to depict methodology and epistemology of Isaac Newton and David Hume. Thesis addresses individual attitudes in context of scientific revolution. The emphasis is placed on critical perception of relationship between Hume's Science of Man and Newton's method of inductive inference as opposed to generally unproblematic view of their relationship. The analysis of both approaches is based on Newton's Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy and Opticks and Hume's A Treatise of Human Nature and An Enquiry concerning Human Understanding.
