Cílem práce je zjistit, zda problematika národní a osobní identity se nějakým způsobem odráží u hrdinů díla Ciudades desiertas. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První část je teoretická, ve které se hovoří o historicko kulturním kontextu, představuje se hnutí literatura de la Onda, hovoří se také o samotném autorovi a první část také obsahuje výtah z esejí Samuela Ramose, Octavia Paze a Rogera Bartry o mexické národní identitě. Druhá část je analytická, kde se věnujeme hlavním postavám a jejich problémům s identitou.The aim of this paperwork is to investigate if the national and individual identity problem is reflected to our main caracters. The paperwork is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical where the historical context is introduced, also the movement of the Onda literature, the author and some ideas regarding the Mexican identity by Samuel Ramos, Octavio Paz and Roger Bartra. The second part is analytical dedicated to the main caracters, Eligio and Susana. Eligio serves us to investigate the national identity problem and Susana is investigated regarding the seeking of her own identity.
