Tato práce se zabývá zobrazením robotů v japonské kultuře. Základ pro tuto bakalářskou práci představuje obecně rozšířené tvrzení, že roboti mají v japonské kultuře zvláštní místo. Tato práce si však klade za cíl nejen zjistit, jak vzniklo a odkud vlastně pochází ono přesvědčení o japonské fascinaci roboty, ale také popsat vývoj japonské robotiky, jak se vyvíjel japonský pohled na roboty a technologie obecně a následně zmapovat současnou situaci, ve které se japonská robotika nachází. V neposlední řadě se zaměřím na to, zda je možné říci, že roboti mají v japonské kultuře jako takové opravdu zvláštní místo, nebo zda se jedná pouze o uměle vykonstruovanou představu či zažitý předsudek, jenž má za cíl podpořit současný sociálně technický vývoj.This thesis is concerned with the image/portrayal of robots in Japanese culture. The basis of the thesis forms the statement that robots hold a special place in Japanese culture. Therefore the aim of this thesis is to closely examine popularly held belief that the Japanese are fascinated with robots. Furthermore I describe the develompent of Japanese robotics, analyze the shaping of the general view of robots and technologies in Japan and map the current situation of Japanese robotics. Last but not least, I seek to examine the above mentioned statement that robots hold a special place in Japanese culture and to discover whether the emerging robotic technologies are indeed continuations of existing cultural models or the associations between Japanese tradition and advanced technologies have been merely invented to support the current sociotechnical development.
