Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá aplikací teorie post-kolonialismu na vznik samozvaného Islámského státu, který je nazýván v této práci jako Daesh. Cílem této práce je prokázat souvislosti mezi vznikem Daeshe a podepsáním Sykes-Picotovy smlouvy. Pro toto prokázání práce využívá instrumentální případovou studii Sýrie a Iráku. Práce si vymezila dvě časové období těchto dvou zemí. Tím prvním je období od roku 1916, do roku 1947, jako období od podpisu Sykes-Picotovy dohody až do konce mandátní správy Francie na syrském území. Druhým obdobím je vznik a existence Daeshe na území obou států.This bachelor thesis deals with application of the theory of post-colonialism on the rise of the self-styled Islamic state, which is described as Daesh in this work. The goal of this thesis is demonstrate connections between the signing of the Sykes-Picot treaty and the rise of Daesh. For this demonstration, thesis uses an instrumental case study of Syria and Iraq. This thesis limited two periods in history of these states. The first period is from 1916, until 1947, as a period of signing the Sykes-Picot treaty in 1916 and the end of French mandatory direction in 1947 in Syria. The second period is the rise and existence of Daesh on territory of both states.
