Tématem práce je aktuální pozice afroamerické komunity v USA v souvislosti s rolí Baracka Obamy jako prvního afroamerického prezidenta. Případová studie se zabývá současnou rasovou politikou v USA, administrativou Obamy a také aktuálními nepokoji ve vybraných amerických městech. Hlavní výzkumnou otázkou textu je, zda po zvolení Baracka H. Obamy můžeme Spojené státy americké považovat za tzv. postrasové? Přičemž se snaží prokázat hypotézu, že v současnosti nelze podle odborníků považovat Spojené státy americké za tzv. postrasovou zemí.The theme of the thesis is the recent position of the African American community in the US relating the role of Barack Obama as the first African-American president. The case study addresses the current racial politics in the US, Obama's administration and the current riots in selected US cities. The main research question of the text is whether after the Barack Obama´s election, the United States can be considered as post-racial. At the same time, the thesis tries to confirm the hypothesis that the United States cannot be currently considered so-called post racial country by experts
