Dlouho se mluví o globálním oteplování. O jeho možných vlivech na planetu, zvířata, lidi. Globální oteplování s sebou nese velké změny na naší planetě. Jednou z největší z nich je zvyšování skleníkových plynů a s tím související oteplování planety, tání ledovců a zvyšování mořské hladiny. Právě pro monitoring ledovců se poslední desetiletí využívají stále modernější techniky, mezi které patří i dálkový průzkum země. Díky jeho rozvoji je možné sledovat polární oblasti nejen pomocí optických, ale i radarových senzorů nesoucí družicemi. Již počet stávajících družic, které sbírají data o povrchu, v roce 2014 rozšířila družice Sentinel-1A, kterou vypustila na oběžnou dráhu Evropská kosmická agentura. Právě díky datům z této družice je možné zachytit i nepatrné změny nejen v rámci kryosféry.This master thesis is reaction to development of radar remote sensing. Based on properties of microwaves is analysis of radar data good complement of traditional remote sensing in the optical (visible) part of the electromagnetic spectrum, but they can also be used for specific types of analysis. With global warming are increasingly talking about the development of techniques of the monitoring of impacts of global warming on the environment, such as in this case, the melting of glaciers in the polar regions. This work is mainly focused on areas located in the northern hemisphere - Greenland. The analyses were performed on radar data from satellite Sentinel-1A, using the Sentinel-1 Toolbox, which was specifically created for processing radar data.
