Práce se zabývá charakteristikou regionu Orlických hor a jejich odrazem v literární tvorbě pro děti a mládež v pohádkách a pověstech. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí. Druhá kapitola se zabývá vývojem dětského čtenáře a vlivem umělecké literatury na výchovu dítěte. Právě pohádky a pověsti zaujímají ve formování dětského čtenáře velmi důležitou úlohu. Třetí a čtvrtá kapitola teoreticky rozebírá literární žánr pohádek a pověstí a uvádí jejich diferenciaci. V páté kapitole jde o seznámení s regionem Orlických hor, jeho historií a specifickou charakteristikou. V šesté a sedmé kapitole je seznámení s historií dochovaných pověstí a s nejznámějšími regionálními osobnostmi tohoto literárního žánru Josefem Tříškou, Jiřím Frýzkem a Rudolfem Zrůbkem. Osmá kapitola se zabývá autory nejznámějších pohádkových knížek s námětem Orlických hor Antonínem Špinlerem, Zdeňkem Dufkem, Václavem Šplíchalem. Devátá kapitola je věnována v současnosti nejznámějšímu a nejvydávanějšímu autorovi pohádek z Orlických hor Josefu Lukáškovi. Je také uveden rozhovor se samotným autorem. V závěru práce je malý dotazníkový průzkum znalostí pohádek, provedený ve 3. ročníku ZŠ Františka Kupky v Dobrušce.The Diploma Thesis deals with the characteristics of the region of Eagle Mountains and their reflection in literary works for children and youth - in fairy tales and legends. The Thesis is divided into several chapters. The second chapter deals with the development of children's readers and the influence of literature on child rearing. It is the fairy tales and legends that occupy in shaping a child reader a very important role. The third and fourth chapter analyze theoretical literary genre of fairy tales and legends and shows their differentiation. In the fifth chapter there is a familiarization with the Eagle Mountains' region, its history and specific characteristics. In the sixth and seventh chapter there is an introduction to the history and legends preserved with the most famous personalities of the regional literary genre Josef Tříška, Jiří Frýzek and Rudolf Zrůbek. The eighth chapter deals with the most famous authors of fairy- tale books depicting Eagle Mountains - Antonín Špinler, Zdeněk Dufek and Václav Šplíchal. The ninth chapter is devoted to the currently most famous author of fairy tales from Eagle Mountains - Josef Lukášek. There is also given an interview with the author himself. In the end, there is a little knowledge of fairy tales' questionnaire survey, conducted in the third grade of elementary school of František Kupka in Dobruška.
