Tato práce pojednává o problematice překladu názvů čínských pokrmů do angličtiny. Na základě analýzy názvů pokrmů zhejiangské kuchyně jsou vyčleněny kategorie, podle kterých jsou klasifikovány typy převodů (ekvivalence). Hlavním výstupem práce je analýza typů strategií převodu překladů a specifikace chyb vyskytujících se v překladech.This thesis deals with the issue of English translation of Chinese dishes. The aim of this thesis is to provide basic knowledge about the translation of terms between two languages and types of equivalence that may occur in the translation and evaluate data collected during my research in Zhejiang Province. The theoretical part is concerned with the introduction into the typology of English and Chinese and mainly with the introduction into translatology and problems that may occur during the translation process.The practical part is based on my research, on data collected in 2015. This part provides an overview regarding the most common types of equivalence and furthermore provides an explanation of mistakes that may occur during the translation.
