Diplomová práce se zabývá dimenzí současné ruské geopolitiky na Blízkém východě. Výzkum je zaměřen na hlavní příčiny ruského angažmá v občanské válce v Sýrii z geopolitického hlediska. Zároveň je diplomová práce zaměřená na různé geopolitické školy a jejich teorie, které tvoří teoretický základ pro provedení výzkumu této diplomové práce. Důraz je kladen na teorie představitelů anglosaské a ruské geopolitické školy a odpovídá na otázku, jestli je těmito teoriemi možné vysvětlit příčiny ruského angažmá v Sýrii.The master thesis focuses on the dimension of the contemporary Russian geopolitics on the territory of the Middle East. The research addresses the main reasons of the Russian intervention into the civilian war in Syria. At the same time, the master thesis focuses on the different geopolitical schools and their theories which create the theoretical basement for making the research of the master thesis. The master thesis puts emphasis on the theories of the representatives of English and Russian geopolitical schools, and answers a question if these theories can explain reasons of the Russian intervention into the Syrian civil war.
