Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá konceptualizací lexémů hloupost a chytrost v německém a polském jazyce. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. V první části jsou představeny teoretické poznatky z oblasti kognitivní lingvistiky, především nové pojetí metafory a metonymie. Dále zde najdeme definici jazykového obrazu světa a obsáhlý přehled o jeho výzkumu. Druhá část je zaměřena na rozbor lexikálních údajů z etymologických a výkladových slovníků a slovníků synonym. V třetí části je provedena analýza korpusu německých a polských frazeologismů, které se významově vztahují k lidské vlastnosti hlouposti a chytrosti. Tyto vlastnosti jsou dále rozděleny do konceptů.The aim of this thesis is to look at the conceptualization of the lexemes "foolishness" and "cleverness" in German and Polish. It is divided into three parts. In the first part theoretical findings from the field of cognitive linguistics, primarily the new concept of metaphor and metonymy are introduced. Furthermore there is a definition of the linguistic picture of the world and a comprehensive overview of its research. The second part is focused on the analysis of lexical data. In the third part the analysis of the corpus of german and polish phraseologisms which semantically relate to human qualities "foolishness" and "cleverness" is performed.
