Tato práce se zaměřuje na kyperský konflikt a Annanův plán na jeho řešení. Cílem této práce je zjistit, co bylo příčinou odmítnutí Annanova plánu v referendu. Teoretická část práce představuje teorii řešení konfliktů a konkrétní nástroje, kterých se využívá při řešení konfliktů. Dále nás teoretická část práce seznamuje s pojmy souvisejícími s etnicitou a nacionalismem, kterých je v této práci často užíváno. Výzkumná část práce se zaměřuje na etnické aspekty konfliktu a v kapitole věnované vývoji konfliktu je poukázáno na výrazné dopady etnického nacionalismu na vývoj konfliktu a na snahy o řešení konfliktu. V části práce věnované Annanovu plánu jsou ustanovení plánu podrobněji rozebrána. Práce představuje sporné body Annanova plánu, které vznikly v důsledku (ne)využití některých nástrojů používaných k řešení konfliktů. V práci je poukázáno na to, že se Annanův plán v některých aspektech jevil jako potenciálně disfunkční a byl pro kyperské Řeky v mnoha ohledech nevýhodný, což přispělo k tomu, že plán v referendu odmítli. Práce rovněž stručně představuje negativní kampaň proti plánu na politické scéně a v médiích na území Kyperské republiky, která výrazně posilnila etnický nacionalismus a bezpečnostní dilema kyperských Řeků, a která byla pravděpodobně jednou z hlavních příčin odmítnutí Annanova plánu v referendu. Přínosem této práce je, že se zabývá podrobně problematikou, které je v českém prostředí věnována pramalá pozornost a zprostředkovává případným zájemcům o tuto problematiku poznatky o vývoji kyperského konfliktu a Annanově plánu na jeho řešení. Tento příspěvek rozšiřuje mizivé množství publikací v českém prostředí, které jsou tomuto tématu věnovány.This thesis focuses on the Cyprus conflict and the Annan Plan for its resolution. The objective of the thesis is to find out the cause of the Annan Plan's rejection in the referendum. The theoretical part of this work presents the theory of conflict resolution and specific tools used with solving conflicts. Furthemore, the theoretical part of the work introduces us to terms related to ethnicity and nationalism, which are often used throughout the work. The exploratory part of this thesis deals with ethnic aspects of the conflict. The chapter about the course of the conflict points to the marked impact of ethnic nationalism on the development of the conflict and on the efforts to resolve it. In the part of the thesis concerning the Annan Plan, the provisions of the plan are discussed in more detail. The work explains controversial points of the Annan Plan, which developed as a consequence of (non)utilization of some of the tools used for conflict resolution. The work shows that in certain aspects, the Annan Plan appeared to be potentially dysfunctional, and for the Cypriot Greeks, it was disadvantageous in many ways, which contributed to the rejection of the plan in the referendum. The thesis also briefly describes the negative campaign against the plan both on the political scene and in the media in the area of the Republic of Cyprus, which significantly strengthened ethnic nationalism and the security dilemma of the Cypriot Greeks, and which was probably one of the main causes of the Annan Plan's rejection in referendum. The contribution of this thesis is in its detailed inquiry of a topic which is given only little attention in the Czech environment. For those potentially interested in the topic, it provides access to the experience regarding the development of the Cyprus conflict and regarding the Annan Plan for its resolution. This work expands the negligible amount of publications which are dedicated to the topic in the Czech environment.
