Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá jezuitskou misií v Japonsku, kterou započal František Xaverský roku 1549. Práce popisuje metodu adaptace jezuitů, vývoj misie a její přínos pro obyvatele Japonska. Zachycuje okolnosti nuceného ukončení misie v 17. století a persekuci křesťanů. Dále se věnuje obnovení misijní činnosti jezuitů ve 20. století, zakládání škol a dalších institucí, a shrnuje současný stav misie a vnímání jezuitů japonskou společností. Cílem práce je zachytit podobu jezuitské misie od 16. století do současnosti a ukázat její přínos.This bachelor's thesis is concerned with the Jesuit mission in Japan, which Francis Xavier began in 1549. The thesis describes Jesuits' adaptation method, the development of mission and its benefits to people of Japan. It detects the circumstances of forced termination of the mission in 17th century and the persecution of Christians. Next the thesis is concerned with restoration of Jesuits' mission activity in 20th century, the founding of schools and other institutions, and it summaries the current situation of mission and how do Japanese people perceive the Jesuits. The aim is to capture the image of Jesuit mission from the 16th century to the present and show the mission's benefits.
