Práce popisuje tradiční způsob života Romů, jejich hodnoty a současnou životní úroveň. Poukazuje na stereotypy, předsudky i negativní medializaci Romů, které ve společnosti dodnes přetrvávají, a zároveň posilují. Pozornost je věnována konceptu sociálního vyloučení a následným dopadům na život Romů v sociálně vyloučených lokalitách. Značný důraz je kladen na systém sociální ochrany a systému sociálního zabezpečení včetně popisu dávek sociální podpory a dávek hmotné nouze. Výzkumná část obsahuje výzkumné šetření realizované formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pracovníky Úřadů práce v kraji Vysočina. Cílem práce je objasnit, jakým způsobem mohou Romové v České republice zneužívat systém sociálního zabezpečení formou dávek státní sociální podpory a dávek pomoci v hmotné nouzi.Thesis describes the traditional way of life of the Roma, their values, culture and present standard of living. It refers to the stereotypes, prejudices and negative media coverage of Roma in society still persists, while growing.Attention is paid to the concept of social exclusion and the consequential impacts on the lives of Roma in socially excluded localities. Considerable emphasis is placed on the system of social protection and social security system, including a description of social benefits and assistance in material need. The research part contains the research carried out semi-structured interviews with office workers work in the Region. The aim is to clarify how can the Roma in the Czech Republic to abuse the social security system in the form of social welfare benefits and benefits in material need.
