Bakalárska práca, sa predovšetkým zaoberá obrazom americkej rodiny na televízií ABC Family. Seriál pod názvom The Fosters, predstavuje nový pohľad na americkú rodinu. Seriál je obrazom "modernej rodiny" v Spojených štátoch amerických. Hlavou rodiny v seriáli sú dve ženy/lesby, biologický syn a adoptované deti. Svoju prácu rozdeľujem do dvoch častí, a to je teoretická a analytická část. Opisujem, ako bola vyobrazená "tradičná rodina" a porovnávam ju s "modernou rodinou" na americkej televízií. Rodina v seriáli už nie je len o biológií, o manželstve, o zväzku muža a ženy, o rovnakej rase alebo náboženstve. Kladie sa dôraz na rodinné vzťahy, či už ide o biologických alebo nebiologických rodičov.This Bachelor's work mainly deals with the portrayal of an american family on the TV channel ABC Family. The series under the name The Fosters introduces a new view of an american family. The series is an image of a ,,modern Family" in the United States of America. The head of the family are two women/ lesbians, their biological son and adopted children. I divide my work into two parts, the theoretical and the analytical. I am describing how the ,,traditional family" is depicted and I am comparing it with the ,,modern family" on american television. The family in the series is not anymore about biology, about marriage,about the bond between man and woman, the same gender or religion. The focus is on family relationships not whether they are the biological or non-biological parents.
