Předkládaná studie je příspěvkem k diskusi o německém a českém dativu. Hlavním cílem práce je problematizace tradiční dichotomie předmětu v dativu a tzv. volného dativu, který je zpravidla řazen nesystematicky v rámci valenční teorie. V práci se nejprve pokoušíme o kritický pohled na valenční syntax a o návrh vhodnějšího modelu popisu, dále je uveden přehled různých kategorizací a metodologické úvahy nad vhodnou typologií pro praktickou část a nad operačními testy. Praktická část se zabývá srovnáním kategorií českých a německých dativů v různých gramatických (sémantických) a sémantických rovinách.This study is a contribution to the debate on the German and Czech dative phrases. The main goal is a problematization of the traditional dichotomy of the dative object and the free dative, which is usually ranked unsystematically within the valence theory. In this study, we first attempt to view the valence syntax critically and to draw a more suitable model of description. In the next chapter there is a summary of the different categorizations and methodological considerations about typologies suitable for the practical part and about the operational tests. The practical part deals with the comparison categories Czech and German dative in different grammatical (syntax) and semantic levels.
