Hlavním cílem přehledové bakalářské práce bylo shrnout doposud publikované poznatky o radioterapii karcinomu prostaty. Práce se v prvotní řadě věnuje diagnostice a radioterapii karcinomu prostaty, a to především nejnovějším radioterapeutickým metodám, kterými jsou IMRT a IGRT. V práci se rovněž pojednává o nežádoucích postradiačních účincích, které jsou s radioterapeutickou léčbou úzce spjaty. V druhotné řadě, práce pojednává o neradioterapeutických léčebných modalitách karcinomu prostaty, kterými jsou chirurgický zákrok, hormonální a chemoterapeutická léčba.The main objective of this summarizing thesis is to create an overview of findings focusing on radiotherapy of prostate cancer which have so far been published in professional literature and magazines. Firstly, this thesis deals with general diagnostic procedures and methods of radio-therapeutic treatment of prostate cancer. Secondly, it covers a brief overview of usage and effectiveness of the latest radiotherapy methods such as IMRT and IGRT. This thesis also deals with negative side effects which are inevitably caused by radiation therapy. The final part of this thesis focuses on non-radiation methods of treatment of prostate cancer such as surgical intervention, hormone and chemo-therapeutic treatment.
