Bakalářská práce se zabývá mediálním obrazem romské menšiny ve třech nebulvárních denících MF Dnes, Lidových novinách a v Právu. Teoretická práce se opírá o mediální konstrukci reality a jejich účinky a předešlé výzkumy reprezentace romské menšiny. Prostřednictvím výzkumné metody, kvantitativní obsahové analýzy, bylo analyzováno 159 článků z 50 náhodně vybraných dnů v roce 2013. Obraz Romů byl zkoumán z hlediska prostoru, který je jim dáván, témat, se kterými jsou spojováni, práce novinářů s Romy jako informačními zdroji, přítomnosti skrytého rasismu a nadužívání etnicity. Výzkum potvrdil trend stereotypního zobrazování menšin v médiích. Na straně druhé však upozornil na determinovanost této problematiky v čase, prostoru a společenským nastavením.This Bachelor thesis focuses on the media image of the Roma minority in three broadsheet newspapers MF Dnes, Lidové noviny and Právo. The theoretical part of the thesis draws on the theory of media construction of social theory and its impact on the recipients and previous research of Roma minority representations. Methodologically, the study is grounded in quantitative content analysis. The analysis was accomplished on 159 articles from fifty randomly selected days in the year 2013. The image of the Roma people was analysed with respect to the space it was given, the topics it was connected to, the journalist´s work with the Roma people as information sources, the presence of hidden racism and the overuse of ethnicity. This study confirms the tendency towards stereotypical images of ethnic groups in media. On the other hand, however, it points out the determinacy of this issue in time, place and society.
