Tématem této bakalářské diplomové práce je koncept "queer čtení" Alexandera Dotyho a jeho následná aplikace na seriál Xena: Warrior Princess. Cílem práce je objasnění konceptu queer čtení a znázornění jeho prezentace v seriálu samotném. Xena: Warrior Princess je jedním z nejčastěji uváděných vzorů, na kterém je možné koncept queer čtení uplatnit. Na základě porovnání jednotlivých sezón s primárním zaměřením na vývoj vztahu ústřední dvojice a s přihlédnutím k dalším výrazným momentům dokazuji použitelnost tohoto konceptu právě v tomto seriálu. Kromě toho jsou zde nastíněny důsledky, které vyplynuly z faktu, že tento seriál lze číst z queer hlediska. Jedná se o souvislost s tvorbou fan fiction, především femslash.The topic of this bachelor work is a concept of queer reading by Alexander Doty and its consequent application of series Xena: Warrior Princess. The object of my work is an explanation of concept of queer reading and illustration of its presentation in series. Xena: Warrior Princess is one of the most frequently presented examples on which concept of queer reading is possible to use. On the basis of comparing individual seasons with primary orientation on development of relation of the main couple and with consideration to another interesting moments I prove an applicability of this concept right in this series. In addition to this there are also sketched consequences which emerged from a fact that we can read this series from the queer point of view. The issue is a connection with production of fan fiction, especially femslash.
