Práce je zaměřena na zkoumání vztahu práce a rodiny u prarodičovské generace, tj. u babiček. Cílem bylo zjistit, jak babičky interpretují vlastní prarodičovství ve vztahu k výkonu placené práce a naopak. Na základě přečtené literatury byly popsány související pojmy, načež byl vypracován výzkumný projekt se všemi jeho náležitostmi. Následně započal sociologický výzkum. Prarodičovství bylo bezesporu označováno jako významnější. Výkon placeného zaměstnání má také svůj význam, ale nikoliv tak velký. Samotné zaměstnání patří k faktorům, které mohou komplikovat výkon prarodičovské role a určovat jeho charakter.The diploma thesis is focused on research of the relation of employment and family from the grandparental generation´s point of view, i.e. grandmother´s. The aim was to find out how grandmothers interpret their own grandparenthood in the relation to their performance in their employment and vice versa. Based on literature, I have read, there were described related terms after which the research project was prepared with all its requirements. Subsequently, the sociological research started. The grandparenthood was determined as more important. The performance in their employment has its meaning too, but less significant. Particularly, employment belongs to factors that can complicate the performance of the grandparental role and determine its character.
