Bakalářská práce Una imagen de Espana a traves de los viajeros ingleses durante el siglo XIX, v překladu Obraz Španělska očima anglických cestovatelů devatenáctého století, byla vypracovaná s cílem analyzovat celkové postavení žánru cestovní literatury a pokusit se věrohodně zrekonstruovat primárními zdroji psanými anglickými cestovateli devatenáctého století vybrané sektory španělské společnosti, jako jsou například ubytování a kulturní elementy, které jsou nadále rozšířeny během bakalářské práci. Kromě toho, že bakalářská práce se soustředí na celkové postavení žánru cestovní literatury, dopodrobna analyzuje nejčastější charakteristiky tohoto žánru, včetně jeho historického vývoje. Bakalářská práce se dále snaží objevit důvody, proč angličtí cestovatelé rozhodli cestovat právě do Španělska a jestli jejich přítomnost měla nějaký dlouhotrvající vliv na mentalitu a identitu španělského lidu.The bachelor thesis Una imagen de Espana a traves de los viajeros ingleses durante el siglo XIX, translated into English as An image of Spain through the English travellers of the 19th century, was written with the aim of analyzing the genre of travel literature in regards to its overall position in the overall concept of literary genres and through primary sources, written by English travellers of the nineteenth century, attempt to reliably describe chosen sectors of Spanish society which include accomodation, and cultural elements, which are further divulged during the thesis. Apart from concentrating on the forementioned positioning of travel literature in the overall literary concept, the analysis also consists of an in-depth study of the most common characteristics of the genre in question, including its historical development. The thesis also intends to uncover the main reasons behind the arrival of English travellers to Spain and whether their presence had any long-lasting effects on the mentality and identity of the Spanish people.
