Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je charakteristika hurikánů, které se utvořily nad Atlantským oceánem ve 21. století a zasáhly území Spojených států amerických a částečně i Kanady. Detailně jsou popsány ty hurikány, které si na daném území vyžádaly významné ztráty na životech a majetku. Charakterizovány jsou hurikány Ivan (2004), Katrina (2005), Ike (2008) a Sandy (2012).The main goal of this thesis is a characteristic of hurricanes which were created above the Atlantic Ocean in the 21st century and which hit some areas in the United States of America and Canada. There are detailed facts about hurricanes which took many human lives and their property. There are characterized hurricanes known as Ivan (2004), Katrina (2005), Ike (2008) and Sandy (2012).
